Sources close to the situation tell me Evan Sinn put up one of the best Week 5 scores in the Heavyweights. Jahmyr Gibbs went for 37.7. Jaylen Warren went for 36.8. Jayden Daniels threw for 32.26. 154.16 points, a blowout of Kevin Jones, and here's the part that should alarm everyone in this league: Evan did it with exactly zero FAAB dollars spent all season. One hundred remaining. The same stack he had in Week 1.

That's not patience. Sources describe it as a man who doesn't believe he needs the waiver wire, and a 2-3 record with the third-most points in the league says he might be right. More on this as it develops.

Meanwhile, at the other end of the spending chart, Justin Waitt has burned $75 of his $100 and has a three-game losing streak and a 2-3 record to show for it. Diamond Dogs put up 654 points for the season, the second-most in the league, and still can't buy a win. A manager familiar with Justin's thinking tells me he's not panicking. I'd argue the FAAB ledger disagrees with that manager.

Nick Inman spent big again — $69 of $100 gone — and this week's move was the one worth tracking. He shipped out C.J. Stroud and claimed Jordan Love off waivers, and Love promptly dropped 29.28 on Justin Waitt's Diamond Dogs in a 165-point week that also featured Puka Nacua going for 37.7. Nick is 3-2, on a two-game heater, and he's not slowing down. At $31 remaining, Nick is a manager who intends to keep buying.

Now the names everyone's chasing that don't matter here. Dameon Pierce, MarShawn Lloyd and Brenton Strange are pulling millions of adds across Sleeper, and all three are already rostered in this league — somebody's sitting on outside assets while the rest of you stare at an empty wire. Darius Cooper was the one actually available, and Ollie Simmonds already grabbed him off waivers this week, cutting Emmett Johnson to do it. Sources: it's done.

What's actually sitting in the pool right now: Kimani Vidal, a legitimate stash in a run-heavy Chargers backfield, plus Jaleel McLaughlin and Kendre Miller if you want change-of-pace lottery tickets. The Patriots defense is drawing over a million adds across Sleeper site-wide and nobody here has touched it. C.J. Stroud, dropped by Nick on a whim, is sitting there for anyone who wants a streaming quarterback. And four separate kickers — Tyler Loop, Nick Folk, Matt Gay, Trey Smack — are trending nationally, which tells you nothing except that fantasy football in October makes people do strange things. Leave the kickers alone.

The manager asleep at the wheel is John Penney. Chase Greatness scored 60.7 this week, the worst output in the league, Ja'Marr Chase was the only starter who showed up, and Penney is sitting on $94 of FAAB like it's a 401k. A person granted anonymity to speak freely about Penney's process called it "conservative." I'd call it a man who needs a receiver and has the budget to buy three of them, doing nothing.

And a word on Trent Harley, 5-0, $99 in the bank, one dollar spent all year. ParmBijan Cheese doesn't need the wire right now. Sources say that's the scariest version of this team — the one that hasn't even started shopping.

Somebody in this league is going to look back at Week 5 and wish they'd made a move. More on this as it develops.
