Sources: it's done. Justin Waitt has spent every dollar of his $100 FAAB budget, and the receipts are ugly.
Waitt bid $8 on Darius Cooper (WR, PHI) on Oct 24. Cooper scored 2.7 in Week 7. The next day Waitt picked up Ted Hurst III (WR, TB) for free. Hurst scored 0. Waitt's Diamond Dogs lost to Ben Cunnion 113.02 to 112.6. That is 0.42 points, from a team that put two players in the lineup for a combined 2.7. Waitt is 2-5 on a five-game losing streak, and his 877.12 points for are the second most in the league. I have two names for this: the Revolving Door, and a man with no money left.
A person familiar with the manager's thinking says Waitt is not done. He can still file $0 claims, and he will. He has made ten paid FAAB claims this season.

The Sleeper-wide trending board, counted across every league on the platform, has the Jacksonville Jaguars DEF at 726,396 adds over 48 hours. Nobody in this league rosters them. The New England Patriots DEF (523,495) and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers DEF (245,545) are also sitting there. So is Chase McLaughlin (K, TB) at 267,792. Last week I told you the board was stacked with skill names this league was sleeping on, kickers and all. The defenses and kickers are still sitting there too, and I am still right.
The skill players are more interesting. Ryan Flournoy (WR, DAL) is trending at 262,056 adds Sleeper-wide and he is available here. Waitt cut him on Oct 21, re-added him on Oct 22, then cut him again on Oct 25 for Hurst. Two drops in four days, and the man he swapped him for put up a zero.
Jonah Coleman (RB, DEN) is also free, at 238,940 adds Sleeper-wide. Kevin Jones paid $8 for him on Sep 22. Devin Singletary (RB, NYG), at 162,423, was dropped by Ollie Simmonds the same week Ollie paid $29 for Jaylen Wright. Mason Taylor (TE, NYJ) is out there at 133,640. Trent Harley, the 7-0 leader, started Isaiah Likely at tight end and got 3.2 points. Harley has $89 left. Do the math.
Who will overpay
John Penney, 4-3 with an all-play mark of 29-48, just paid $16 for Konata Mumpfield (WR, LAR). The number tells you everything about his week-to-week panic. Kevin Jones paid $12 for DeMario Douglas in Week 6 and got 5.3 points in his lineup. Ryan El Masri is the one to watch. He grabbed Caleb Douglas (WR, MIA) for $0. Douglas now leads the Sleeper-wide trending list at 1,259,032 adds, and nobody in this league can touch him. Expect El Masri to get offers by Wednesday.
In fairness, Ryan Weaver's $45 bid on Omar Cooper Jr. paid off with 22.5 points in a 136.42-135.6 win. Weaver is 6-1. The spendy approach is not always stupid. It just usually is.
Asleep at the wheel
Evan Sinn. $100 remaining. $0 spent. That is not a typo. He is 2-5 after losing to Nick Inman by 1.18 points, with Jalen Coker (WR, CAR) giving him 1.9 in the lineup. His one move in the recent log was a free swap of Aaron Rodgers in for Austin Ekeler. A manager with a full budget and a losing record is the weekly story, and nobody is writing it as loudly as I am.
Then there is Ollie. He picked up Kirk Cousins (QB, LV) for $0 on Oct 22. Cousins scored 24.4. Ollie scored 135.6, the highest total by any loser this week, and fell to 0-7 by 0.82 points. He still has $40. A winless team that scores like that has a luck problem, not a wire problem, but I will take the other side if anyone wants to bet.
And Brian Jones has $63, an all-play record of 20-57, and Ja'Kobi Lane, a $9 pickup, in his lineup for 5.5. Somebody get that man a defense.
More on this as it develops.
