The wider Sleeper universe has spoken. Over the last 48 hours, the Jacksonville defense drew 1,358,532 adds across all leagues everywhere. Caleb Douglas drew 1,833,976. Those are Sleeper-wide numbers, not ours, and Douglas is already rostered in this league anyway. What matters here is who is actually available.

Sources: it's done. Here is the shortlist.

The claims

Elijah Mitchell (RB, PHI). He picked up 351,477 adds Sleeper-wide, and nobody in this league owns him. That is a problem for Brian Jones, who paid $47 on Oct 6 for Will Shipley, the single biggest winning bid on the recent board, and dropped DJ Giddens to do it. Ryan Weaver grabbed Dameon Pierce for $10 a week later. Mitchell is the Philadelphia back left standing, and a person familiar with the situation tells me at least two managers are already drafting a bid. Whoever lands him at a discount makes Jones's $47 look like a donation. Jones, still holding $53, has the funds to protect himself. Will he? His team lost 108.62-95.06 on Sunday with a 1.9 from Jalen Coker in the lineup, so I'm not optimistic.

Savion Williams (WR, GB). 178,990 Sleeper-wide adds, free here. The obvious home is Kevin Jones, whose Bannermen have lost three straight and own a 24-67 all-play record. His Week 7 starters included Zachariah Branch at 2.7 and Kalif Raymond at a flat zero. Kevin has $98 left and has spent exactly $2 all season, on Raymond. Let that sink in.

The defenses and kickers. Jacksonville, New England, Tampa Bay and Washington are all sitting there, along with kickers Chase McLaughlin and Tyler Bass. Nobody in the last 25 recorded moves touched one. The wider world loves them. This league has declined to join the party.

Who will overpay

Hunter Koepsell is 0-7 with $18 left, and he has already shown what desperation costs. He paid $70 for Deshaun Watson on Aug 25, and a person granted anonymity to speak freely says he is eyeing Mitchell. Sunday he started Jake Ferguson and AJ Dillon, and both scored zero. Hunter will bid all $18 on a back who may share a backfield. Watch for it.

Sean Gibbins is the league's busiest claimant, with 13 winning bids. Jahan Dotson cost him $15 and posted 1.6 in the Week 7 lineup. He still won with 165.92 behind Tony Pollard's 36.5, so nobody is stopping him. He has $28 left and, as of Oct 22, a fresh $6 receiver in Jordan Whittington.

Chris Boyle spent $31 on Drew Lock on Sep 15. His tight ends, Tyler Higbee and Isaiah Likely, scored 4.4 and 4.2 in a loss. He has $29 left and a sudden need for a new category of player.

Justin Waitt is the cautionary tale. He is 3-4 and has $1 left after $99 spent, including $35 each on Corey Kiner and Zonovan Knight on Oct 20. He can bid a dollar and pray.

Asleep at the wheel

Jamie Sinn has $100. All of it. He is 3-4 on two straight losses, and Tyler Warren put up a zero while Aaron Jones managed 3.6. A new tight end or runner is sitting there for the asking, and he has not spent a dollar.

Evan Sinn is 1-6 on a five-game skid, with $89 left and Chig Okonkwo's zero in the starting lineup. His only FAAB spend all year was $11 on Carson Wentz. Charlie Koepsell has $99, but he is 6-1 and has earned the right to hoard. Evan has not.

One more detail: Tareq Hafza dropped Taysom Hill on Oct 27, the latest move on the board. Hill is a free agent now. More on this as it develops.

The prediction here is simple. Somebody lands Mitchell, and it won't be the manager with the most money.
